- $9k–$15k
- Install time
- 1–1.5 days
- Warranty
- 10-year parts
Every HVAC replacement includes the following, no surcharges, no surprise line items.
- Free in-home sizing assessment
- Competitive wholesale pricing on Tempstar + comparable brands
- Financing available through Hearth
- Clean installs, we tarp floors, vacuum, and haul away old equipment
A full HVAC replacement isn’t just swapping a box, it’s a chance to actually fix the things the old install got wrong. Undersized return air. A line set with a kink nobody caught. Ductwork that leaks into the basement. An outdoor unit sitting in a puddle every spring.
We walk the whole system before we quote. If the old one was wrong, the new one won’t be.
Right-sizing, not up-sizing
Most homeowners we meet have been told they need a bigger system than they actually do. Oversized furnaces short-cycle, oversized ACs leave the house clammy. We size to the house rather than defaulting to whatever tonnage was there before, which saves you years of uneven temperatures and higher-than-necessary bills.
Equipment partners
We install Tempstar as our primary line, solid equipment, good wholesale pricing, parts availability we can actually count on in Northern Kentucky. If you prefer Carrier, Lennox, Trane, or American Standard we can do those too, usually for a modest uplift. The equipment matters less than the install; a great furnace installed poorly will fail faster than an average furnace installed right.
What a replacement day looks like
Typical single-system replacement takes us one long day with a two-person crew. We arrive at 7:30, lay floor protection from the driveway to the mechanical room, shut down and disconnect the old equipment, and haul it out. The new equipment goes in, gets wired, piped, and vented. We verify start-up performance on gas (combustion check when needed) and on refrigerant (superheat/subcooling), run the system through heat + cool modes, and don’t leave until the thermostat is reading set point.
Warranty + what happens after
Tempstar offers a 10-year parts warranty on most equipment when you register within 90 days, we handle the registration for you so it doesn’t get missed. Our labor warranty is one year standard, extended to the lifetime of the equipment for customers on a maintenance plan.
What sets this HVAC replacement job apart.
Sized to your house, not a carbon-copy of the old equipment. Oversizing is the #1 problem we inherit.
Full pre-install walk: ductwork, returns, registers, line sets, drains. We fix what the last installer missed.
Clean installs. Floor protection from the truck in. We vacuum when we leave.
Real warranties, registered for you, backed by a shop that actually answers the phone.
Smart add-ons for a HVAC replacement.
While we’re already in your mechanical room, a few of these cost a fraction of what they’d run on a separate visit. Pricing is ballpark, not a quote.
Whole-home humidifier
If you're replacing the furnace as part of the system, this is the moment to add a humidifier. Winter RH in NKY is brutally dry without one.

HVAC replacement, quick answers.
- Single-system (furnace or AC) is usually one long day. Matched furnace + AC is 1–1.5 days. Heat pump conversions that involve electrical upgrades can stretch to two days. We always give you a time window before the job starts.
- No. If your AC is 18 years old and your furnace is 8, you replace the AC. We'll size the new AC to match your existing blower and tell you exactly what to expect when the furnace's time comes.
- Standard furnace replacements in Northern Kentucky typically land $4,500–$7,500, AC replacements $5,500–$9,500, full matched systems $9,000–$15,000. Heat pumps and zoned systems run higher. We quote in writing after the site visit, no phone quotes.
- Yes, through Hearth. Soft pull to pre-qualify, typical terms 3–12 years, fixed rate. We’ll walk through the options with you.
Watson HVAC replacement reviews.
Google reviews from Northern Kentucky homeowners, filtered to mentions of HVAC replacement work.
“Watson heating and cooling exceeded all my expectations. Great communication and very knowledgeable about what the problem was and what needed to be done. They were were honest about the issue and didn't try to sell me an entire new system. They showed up on time and got the job done in a timely manner. I will recommend them to anyone who is in need of HVAC service. Paul K”
“It was a very cold day and our heater went out. We called Mike at the end of the day and he was able to come over right away and fix it. He was very professional and did a great job. His prices are reasonable and he does quality work. We will use him in the future when we need to replace our unit.”
“I consulted Mike for a second opinion about my air conditioner. Both said there was a leak in the coils causing the freon to escape. Unlike the other company, he suggested repairing the unit rather than replacing it which saved me money. Mike and his crew did a great job. He was very friendly and professional.”
